Mexican serape, eagle and serpent — the Mexican coat of arms
Mexican serape on a cream ground striped in rust, brown and black, carrying at its centre the eagle holding the serpent and perched on the nopal — the motif of the Mexican coat of arms. Wings widely spread, cactus fruit woven beneath the talons. Fringes at both ends. The largest and most legible of the three weavings. Flat weave; the hand shows in the waver of the stripes. Workshop and date unidentified. Not verified: wool or acrylic, and the dimensions — measure on site. Use as a throw, a wall hanging or an accent rug. All three weavings together: $100.
